My two-year old initially liked this whale and the shooting plastic water from its blowhole but quickly got bored with it. I think it’s a cool toy with as many features as can be added to a whale, including the flapping fins when you roll it on the ground.

Since our has the Fisher-Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship, we’ve been getting him the additional sets.

He likes the whale because it comes with little plastic “water spouts” that you put in the blowhole, and when you push a button, they shoot out. Our son is only three, but he can load the spouts himself.

It also comes with a guy who looks like Poseidon, and a shield that also fits onto the pirate ship as a decoration.

Another set my son enjoys is Imaginext Riptide the Turtle.

We like this line of toys. My son has the pirate ship too. He plays pretty hard with his toys and they have been through a lot. This whale has been “thrown” and dropped all over the place and you’d never know. Very durable.

My son really enjoys making his whale gobble up pirates, or anything else for that matter. He did wonder if all whales looked this scary, as the toy is a little scary. However, he loves to play with it, along with his pirate ship from this same toy company. He likes how the whale can shoot water from its top.

the kids (4yrs, 2yrs) enjoyed this for a bit, but lost interest in it quickly. very durable as it was dragged around by the scanner by our youngest and still going strong.

My 5yr old daughter has a very vivid imagination and loves to play store or restaurant. After looking into many other cash registers I decided on this one for Christmas. She loved it! She especially likes the scanner part. The drawer opens and it comes with play money, paper and coins. It is also educational because it have letters on the keys and food items and talks. Perfect for her to ring us out and learn more at the same time!

I got this for my 2 year old grandson. He loves it. At first he was a bit put off by Elmo’s waving arms, but he seems to have gotten over that. He loves it when Elmo falls over and needs help to get up. Sometimes he will help him up himself and sometimes he invites the nearest adult to “help him”. My daughter reports he loves to have conversations with him and to dance with him. It was wonderful choice. (I sometimes find the 5 year-old putting Elmo through his paces, too)

Loved this toy at first. My son was obsessed with it. But after a few weeks the toy stopped working. I thought the batteries had died, but it didn’t work with the replacements either. Maybe my brand new replacements were the problem? No. It wouldn’t work with another set either. After looking on the internet I noticed that this seems to be a fairly common problem. Caveat Emptor.

I purchase this toy first one month ago for my 2 year old daughter. After watching numerous videos on the product and reviewing all reviews, I thought she would love it and so I went ahead and purchase it. Well it has been her favorite toy over Backpack (from Dora). She likes to hug it and pull its hand. I noticed that the month stop working and it made a lot of mechanically noise when it was talking and when it tried to sit down. I looked at the toy and thought it must be because of one of the hands being loose. That will soon come to not be the case. I decided that since she love the toy so much and I am bothered by the mechanically noise, I would go out and buy the toy again. So, I did so yesterday. I purchase another Elmo Live to have the same issues. Not even 2 hours into having the toy and the same mechanically issues begin to happen, it would not open its mouth while it talked. Granted this is a BRAND NEW toy. I replace the batteries and that did not help. There is no physical damage to the new toy so I have to conclude that this is a known issue with the toy. There is no way that I could have gotten 2 defective toys within a one month period. I will try to return the new toy for another to see if I fray better. I will update on the result.

The toy is cute and the things it does - tell stories, tell jokes, dance, etc. is great entertainment. My daughter loves it and even take the toy to bed with her every night.

The toy does not have a longevitity in my opinion because of the issues that I faced with toy. I experience the come on and then quickly go off with the first toy but when I replace the batteries that was no longer an issue. Instead as stated above the mouth would not open when it is talking, very annoying hearing the mechanically noise of the toy trying to open the mouth or something.

I bought this toy for two of my grandsons. The three year old tired of it quickly. The 9 month old isn’t sure about it. The adults love it.

I got this for my son December of 08, he was 22 months at that point… It was love at first sight! He still loves it almost a year later, and EVERY single kid who comes over shares that same feeling, even 4 and 5 year olds! Also, durablility wise, my son is super rough with this toy and it still works… I hate when people get all in a huff if they get the one that doesn’t work (which so many times is user error, or they got the battery port wet), hello, if you have a new toy and it stops working randomly most companies will gladly replace it! None the less, this Elmo was worth it for us!

We purchased this for our 1 year old grandson and he just loves it.All the
sounds and actions are very intriquing and it is a great learning tool

I bought this because my mom was desperate for the classic version that I played with as a kid. This isn’t it. The toy is smaller and the handle is so stiff my 15 month old gets pissed trying to make it talk. Also, in the interest of cramming more animals in there are ’sounds’ that are non-sense like the bunny who goes ‘boing’ are you kidding me? Use your cash to buy something GOOD for the baby in your life.

This is a nice toy, and I like the fact that the animal sounds are all realistic. The couple of drawbacks there are include 1) when the lever is pulled down, the sound of it and the arrow turning are a bit loud and you almost can’t hear anything until the animal sound and 2) the lever is a bit difficult for my son to figure out (he’s used to pressing buttons on most of his other toys) and he’s a pretty bright 18 month-old. Hopefully he’ll figure it out soon. Seems sturdy and definitely worth the cost.

My own children had this toy. I have pulled that handle many times. Now great nephews got them for Christmas. The extra page makes for more variation. This toy always got giggles at my house.

My daughter got this item for Christmas this year. She loves to pull the handle and hear the sounds the animals make. She also loves to hear the two songs that play, “Old McDonald” and “The Farmer in the Dell”.

She likes to flip the tab and she has done a good job of trying to pull off the arrow and throwing it on various surfaces. The toy has come out completely unscathed.

We are all looking forward to playing with this toy in the coming weeks and months.

The ONLY down side of the toy is the animal sounds for some of the animals leave a little to be desired. But for all the animals, they are at least acceptable. This is why I gave it four stars instead of five.

I purchased this item for my 3 year-old granddaughter to go with her Loving Family Doll House. She loves it and plays with it every day.

  • 19 Fitzgerald

We purchased the Loving Family dollhouse at Christmas and everyone in our family chipped in to furnish it but the bathroom was not available at any stores. I buckled down and spent the $30+ to get the bathroom at Amazon and my daughter loves it. What a difference it makes that her doll family can now take a bath, use the potty, etc. It definitely completes the house!
